“Nature uses only the longest threads to weave her patterns, so that each small piece of her fabric reveals the organization of the entire tapestry.”

- Richard Feynman

Our Goals for this program span the range from education to action:

1) Develop an effective monitoring program to assess population change over time.

2) Provide early warning of declines in population size or occurrence of frogs, toads, salamanders and newts.
3) Promote public involvement in protection of amphibians and their habitats.
4) Educate the public about amphibians and their role in the ecosystem.
5) Be a resource for regional and national organizations tracking amphibian populations.
6) Identify and classify individual species while learning about their lifecycles.
7) Understand current conservation concerns and identify activities to reverse negative trends.
