“Trees are your best antiques.”

- Alexander Smith

Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy organized a group of volunteers who worked to remove highly invasive, alien plant species during five work sessions over the summer.

One of our interns, Joey Villari, organized two different work sessions to remove the beautiful but highly aggressive purple loosestrife from along a stream in Round Hill.

While we made significant progress both times, a lot more needs to be done to get the purple loosestrife in that area under control.

We will be working this project again next year, hopefully working with other groups.
