LWC Podcast - Episode 6: Opossums
Posted by Nicole under Loudoun Wildlife, Podcasts
In this episode we talk all about opossums, their life cycles, behaviors and what to do if one gets in our house.
The photo above is of Stanley the Opossum, who came to our annual meeting one year with wildlife rehabber Peggy Coontz who shared her knowledge of opossums with us.

Nice to hear your voice, Nicole, and to learn more than I ever knew about opossums. I know they are in Seattle, except in my son’s yard, where his pit bull has killed opossum intruders and now they simply stay away. The dog, by the way, is a loving animal to people he knows, and he is beautifully disciplined when meeting people and dogs he does not know. However, I’m glad that we have a Westie!

Thanks Nicole, I really enjoyed the podcast. This is a great idea! It was very interesting. We had a huge opossum in our back yard that I saw at dawn one year. Other than that, I usually only see them dead by the side of the road

I’m so glad you enjoyed the opossum episode! And….soon I’ll start doing interviews with local naturalists so you’ll hear others in addition to my voice. If only our green frogs weren’t so shy, I’d add them to an episode too….we’ll work up to that

Thanks, Nicole. This was the first podcast I’ve listened to and it was most enjoyable.
