Spring has sprung!  It’s time to get outside and dig in the dirt!  As you do, be sure to think about wildlife since really you’re out there altering their habitat.  We have online our Gardening for Wildlife Plant List which you can search based on specific species or download as a pdf document (button on left side of the page). All the plants listed are native.

For a bit of fun try out our Gardening for Wildlife word search puzzle. You can get some hints and tips for the answers by reading the Gardening for Wildlife article that was published in the Habitat Herald.

More puzzles on Loudoun nature and wildlife can be found on our Educational Resources page.

and the young winds fed it with silver dew,
and it opened its fanlike leaves to the light,
and closed them beneath the kisses of night.

- Percy Bysshe Shelley
