Thanks for the interest. I'd love to have one or two of my students to come out and check this spring. Please feel free to contact me at LVHS

I had barn owls nesting in my silo (attached to my barn... which I turned into a house) last Spring. They are still around, and I imagine will nest there again. I have some good pictures of the offspring nesting.

Might be a good site for your students to visit.

Actually, the location they nest in currently in the silo is not ideal, so maybe a nesting location in there would be better for you to install.

Let me know your interest level.

I'm in Waterford, VA near the intersection of Rt 9 and Old Wheatland Rd.

What a great idea!!! Being so close to LVHS, I'm sure the kids and teacher are aware of the silos on Bell Road near John Deere Nurseries. Maybe a possibility? One site I love to visit throughout the nesting year is http://watch.birds.cornell.edu/nestcams/home/index. The barn owls are always a favorite of mine. Good luck to the kids.
