There was a small flock of rusty blackbirds (6 to 12 in number) in the fields along Snake Hill Road for several weeks this fall and early winter. They were often feeding on the ground with mixed flocks of robins and red-winged blackbirds. My first sighting was Oct. 30; last sighting Dec. 15. I haven't seen them since the significant snow cover in December, but they may be back now that the fields are open again.

I think I have seen these in Sterling near the Christ the Redeemer Church on Rt 7. There is a small cattails pond in the back of their parking lot and a creek that runs behind the 'new fence'. White eyes, light blacky-brown and I couldn't find them in my quick backyard reference card.
Good Luck!
