Spring Native Plant Sale at Morven Park
April 13 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Native plants add beauty and interest to your garden year round and provide important habitat for wildlife. Our Native Plant Sale is the place to buy spring-blooming flowers, vines, trees, shrubs and ferns from four local native plant nurseries: Hill House Farm & Nursery, Nature By Design, Seven Bends Nursery and Watermark Woods. The Sale takes place at the visitor parking lot (access via main entrance on Old Waterford Road) and will be staffed by volunteers knowledgeable about native plants who can advise you on selecting natives for your garden.
The Sale also provides an opportunity to learn about some of Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy’s programs and how you can volunteer for them. Our Wild Shop will be there with merchandise for sale, and we’ll have TLC organic fertilizer and deer deterrent to give away. Wild Birds Unlimited will also be at the Sale with nestboxes and poles, and bird feeding supplies.
While you’re there, be sure to stop by our community partners’ booths: Virginia Chapter of the American Chestnut Foundation, Banshee Reeks Chapter of Virginia Master Naturalists, Loudoun Master Gardeners, Piedmont Chapter of Virginia Native Plant Society and Wild Ones NoVA.
11:00 am presentation: Native Plants for Beginners
This talk and demo will include plant suggestions for a variety of settings. We’ll have plants on hand to take a look at, along with photos of mature plants in native garden settings. Then you can look around at what the nurseries have available.
If you have boxes for carrying your plants, please bring them. If you have extra boxes, bring them for others to use.
